To celebrate Dallas Art Week, we welcomed our friends from Fair Warning, the invitation-only, highly curated art auction platform that is the brainchild of the brilliant Loic Gouzer. The highly esteemed auctioneer (of Sothebys and Christies fame) uses the phrase “think less, feel more” to sum up his philosophy about how to be passionate collector.
And we sure had a room full of passionate (and well dressed) collectors! A beautiful small plates dinner was served in our restaurant, with caviar baked potatoes, lamb meatballs, and…of course…French fries. Hundreds of candles set the scene.
Even with an appearance by a fabulous (and famous) mother/daughter duo, the true stars of the night were two works brought in for Dallas Art Fair…Kai Althoff’s extraordinary “Untitled (Girl With a Suitcase)” and a Texas-centric Jean-Michel Basquiat’s untitled work from 1987.
With the tunes cranked up by resident DJ extraordinaire DJ RomiQ, frozen champagne margaritas on tap, and a crowd that could have stayed all night, Dallas once again proved that everything is bigger-and better-in Texas.
