When it comes to wellbeing and self care, Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz know a thing or two.

With offices and their home in Chelsea and a weekend home in Hudson, these two have this “New York life” thing figured out. Take a look around them and you will surely find a dog tchotchke or ten.

“We collect a lot of dog paraphernalia, mostly pug or bulldog stuff. We also had a Frenchie. So, we have a lot of Frenchie stuff too,” says Mathew. “We try to keep it edited so the kitsch doesn’t become too…much,” notes Andrew.

“I think you know, whether we like it or not [Matthew says looking at Andrew], we’re also furniture junkies. I mean we have a lot of mid century but we like old, you know, antiques as well. So it’s very eclectic. It’s not one homogenous environment.” The real star of the dog show today, is their pug Mr. Greenberg.

Matthew and Andrew have been sharing for over half of their lives, celebrating twenty six years together. “One of the hardest things to do is move in with another person. Because I think, you’re definitely set in the ways you do things and having to use the word ‘we’ as opposed to ‘I’ is always a difficult transition for most people, even in the best of times,” says Andrew. These two, and Mr. Greenberg make three, know how to decompress and enjoy, especially Sundays. “One of the things that I love most about Sunday mornings is waking up and grinding coffee beans and actually making coffee and smelling it and drinking and just having that downtime.

“I’m very ritualistic about Sunday. I love that it’s the day of doing what I want to do. So, I usually first thing hop on my bicycle and ride and get the Sunday New York Times.”

If the weather holds, running around, like, an apple orchard in the country is a pretty great thing too,” says Matthew. “I’m very ritualistic about Sunday. I love that it’s the day of doing what I want to do. So, I usually first thing hop on my bicycle and ride and get the Sunday New York Times. Even though I can read it online I hate reading it online, and I get a full copy and I bring it back. Sometimes I bring Mr. Greenberg, sometimes not,” adds Andrew.

We asked how Mr. Greenberg fits into all of this, they admit – he is the real magic. “He’s our attorney and accountant,” says Andrew. “And our doctor!” adds Matthew.
