Zooming Into Real Life, A Love Letter To The Frontlines

WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM OUR FRIENDS. SPECIAL THANK YOU TO MADELEINE VILLAMARIN, @YMTPHOTO, FOR CAPTURING THIS FULFILLING WEEKEND.

Lately we find ourselves turning to Zoom calls for just about everything.

Work, communicating with loved ones, celebrating anniversaries, holidays and birthday parties. Brianna Lipovsky, founder of Maison d’Etto fragrance house, recently found herself on a zoom call one night celebrating a birthday with friends from her post bacc med school days. Jubilant conversations turned melancholy as reality circled back to Brianna’s friends currently working to battle Covid-19. Tortured by anxiety, the idea of normalcy, and crippling nightmares – home was no longer a sanctuary of respite.

“How can we help?”

Our Love Letter To The Frontlines, spearheaded by Brianna, brought like-minded, value-driven brands together to deliver moments of respite and sweet relief to hundreds of healthcare workers across the New York Tri-State area. It was our unique pleasure to open our doors at Hudson Yards as host to our brand partners over a quick weekend, as a few friends of The Conservatory packed, bundled and sorted these wellbeing gift bags.

The gift bags were personally delivered and distributed to doctors and medical professionals through networks closely tied to the founders of our participating brand partners. “We didn’t expect or anticipate this to be a ROI tactic, just something nice to do. But within 24 hours of receiving the care package, Dr. Melinda Ball, Anesthesiologist ordered the Costa Brazil face oil, she said she had never felt so incredible putting it on her skin and she always wanted to feel that way.” relayed Brianna Lipovsky.

It is our pleasure to be able to support our brand partners and those on the frontlines.

Maison d’Etto: A purpose driven fragrance house looking at how to help people through scents. After long winded emails and many phone calls, Brianna’s fragrance partner IFF in France rallied behind her to compose, finalize, and package a new fragrance she had been concepting. Base notes of lavender, with CO2 extracted ingredients, the anatomy of the fragrance activates certain areas in the brain linked to relaxation. Just like all of Maison d’Etto’s fragrances, “For You” was inspired by an idyllic summer spent riding horses through fields of hay and wild lavender in the French Pyrenees. Lavender providing a grounding, comforting base that blossoms into so much more.

Costa Brazil: Made using sustainably-harvested butters and oils from the Amazon rainforest, Costa Brazil is skin care and home fragrance for the design- and eco-conscious aesthete. Brianna approached Costa Brazil’s founder Francisco Costa to be a part of the initiative after chatting with him about their industry, and how they could collaborate and support each other as our worlds have been turned on their heads. Costa included the line’s Oleo Para A Face Kaya Anti-Aging Oil; a Brazilian rainforest beauty elixir, powered by nature to nourish and revitalize the skin. Deemed an essential for environmentally-stressed skin.

“Being back at The Conservatory gave us a resemblance of normal life we are all longing for. Every morning we would sit in Teak, drink our coffee, and breathe. It gave everyone a bit of hope for what’s to come.” said Brianna.

Royal Fern: Backed by dermatologist Timm Golueke, Royal Fern is all of the lush texture and efficacy you want from a powerhouse anti-aging line, with none of the fillers, mineral oils or parabens you don’t. Golueke spent four years studying the fern, and has been able to harness its regenerative properties into formulas that stimulate, nourish and protect the skin, scalp, and hair. Dr. Golueke donated the Phytoactive Hydra-Firm Intense Mask. The innovative formula neutralizes free radicals to protect skin from harmful environmental pollutants while powerful phytoactive ingredients work to reduce chronic inflammation, prevent collagen reduction and help retain elasticity. This powerful and luxurious mask reduces signs of fatigue and stress leaving skin lush, replenished, and rejuvenated.

Nature of Things: The power of social media. Natureofthings found Brianna by way of Instagram direct messages, looking for a way to get involved and give back. This California brand believes that health is harmony. And what better way to restore balance than through enveloping bath products, body balms, and ingestible powders made with brain-boosting nootropics and anti-inflammatory roots. Their contribution: Fortifying Magnesium Soak. A pain and muscle recovery bath soak powered by magnesium chloride sourced from Himalayan salt mines that brings immediate relaxation and a better night’s sleep. Papaya enzyme for inflammation and muscle soreness, passionflower for added soothing properties, and French green clay for exfoliation and detoxification. A relaxing evening awaits.
