My grandfather. He died before I realized how many questions I have for him.

Sunday ritual?
My husband makes me coffee and delivers it to me in bed every morning so it starts there. Then we walk to our farmers market which is the best one in Los Angeles. Then we might go mountain biking somewhere north of LA or take the dogs on a hike. Mostly we like to have “GTL” days on Sundays (Gym, Tan, Laundry – Jersey Shore reference.) In the afternoon, I often do sketch and design work. I love working on Sundays because no one is around to distract me.

It means taking a pause before purchasing luxury items and taking into consideration that item’s societal and environmental footprint.

What was the inspiration behind starting your brand?
I have been designing and making jewelry since I was a little girl. It always seemed an obvious choice for me. I started by making silk-knotted beaded necklaces by hand and selling them to friends and grew my business organically over time, without funding. I started about ten years ago.

Give three words that describe your brand?
Vibrant. Responsible. Aspirational.
