On November 4, The Conservatory launched the new Phaidon tome Great Women Artists, and announced that sales of the title through New Years will benefit Promundo, the global leader in promoting gender equality and preventing violence.
In addition, the portfolio of limited edition prints from the book, was displayed in the gallery space, and includes work from celebrated artists Cecily Brown, Lubaina Himid, Bharti Kheri, Catherine Opie, Jenny Seville and Dana Schutz. This portfolio is exclusively being shown in New York at The Conservatory and will be on display through November 17. The portfolio and prints are underwritten by the Kering Foundation, and all proceeds will benefit Promundo.
Hosted by noted collectors and philanthropists, Howard and Cindy Rachofsky, with gallery director David Maupin, editor Stefano Tonchi, and art curator Pippa Cohen, the evening was filled with conversation, connections and a shared belief in the power of women in the art world.
Other notable guests included art patrons Deedie Rose, Jennifer and John Eagle, Liz Swig, Samira Nasr, Michelle Stein and Victor Glemaud, Brian Atwood, Derek Lam and Jan Schlottman, Laura Cunningham and Ken Downing.
Guests enjoyed “Cindy’s Margarita” from Casa Dragones, Organic Prosecco and bites from Teak Tearoom.
