Best thing about where you are from?
I was born and raised in Sweden, but my heritage is from Ghana and Togo. So the best thing about Sweden is the high standard of living and the beautiful natural environment of forests, lakes, and mountains. The best thing about Ghana/Togo is the rich culture, the warm welcoming people and the fresh food.

It’s hard not to be reminiscent of the past and be distracted by the future. How do you strive to live in the moment?
I try not to have any regrets about the past and worries about the future: it can be easy to get caught up in regrets about the past or worries about the future, but these thoughts can pull you out of the present moment.

What does Considered Luxury mean to you?

For me, the term “luxury” refers to something considered to be hi-quality, expensive, or desirable item. Luxury items, for me, are often associated with exclusivity and selective items.

What was the inspiration behind starting your brand?
In Western Africa, where my parents originate from, skincare is a form of self-love and something people have been doing for generations. Taking care of your skin is more than a daily routine, and silk-soft skin is seen as an affordable status symbol. I wanted to combine that with the Swedish minimalistic design that I grew up with and was a part of my identity. Showcase these two universes together paved the way for creating Melyon.
