Dream dinner guest?
I love to create my own at-home spa. I’ll first take a long bath with our Oil Bath for the sense and apply our Glow Mask or Enzyme Peel while I relax. Then I’ll nourish my skin with a rich body butter and apply our Eye Cream Line A around my eyes in a thicker layer to create an eye mask. It’s important to dedicate time to care for yourself each week; I can’t recommend it enough.
This depends on the season. Tulips in spring, Amaryllis during winter.
The smell of fresh pine in the forest.
Cheese dumplings, a renowned local dish from Austria.
Favorite place to escape to when you need a moment of respite?
It’s always the forest for me. I love to start my day with a walk in the forest in Bezau where I live and bathe in the soothing calmness of the trees and natural light.

Best thing about where you are from?
The people and local traditions.
It’s hard not to be reminiscent of the past, and distracted by the future. How do you strive to live in the moment?
In the Bregenerzwald we have a famous saying; “we honour the old and welcome the new.” I live by this saying everyday. A perfect combination of heritage and tradition with modern thinking and innovation is what excites and inspires me.
What does Considered Luxury mean to you?
To be able to share and deliver our products to our customers today, without compromising the world we live in for future generations.
What was the inspiration behind starting your brand?
I grew up in the idyllic Austrian alpine region in the Bregenzerwald immersed in an understanding of preventative health rituals and the benefits that could be found in the plants that grew in abundance in the area, which has served as my inspiration for the brand since launching in 2003.
When I joined my family hotel in the 1990s, and one of my initial projects was to develop a spa with an offering of signature beauty treatments. I quickly realized that I also needed to create my own in-house spa product line to support the service. One that adopted the same natural, regional and sustainable values as the hotel itself; a range that looked and felt as premium as the results it delivers. This is where is all began.
Susanne Kaufmann the brand goes much further than high-quality, natural and effective ingredients; we see the skin as one and offer targeted preventative skincare solutions to help treat skin needs from head to toe. Each product is developed using only the finest plant actives and botanical essences, carefully chosen for their efficacy and skin affinity. Responsible production, the sourcing of local ingredients, sustainable packaging innovation, manufacturing processes and a deep respect for nature and people are key pillars of our brand. This has always been our philosophy. It’s always been about the entire picture.
